New Choruses for boys and men

SingersMarin is pleased to announce the start-up of two new choruses this fall for young boys and men.

Jeff Paul will be conducting Comets, the chorus for young boys, 9 years old and up. These young singers will sing a variety of musical styles, gain valuable musical skills, and discover the joy of singing for others. The chorus will meet on Mondays from 5:30-6:30 PM in Mill Valley.  Jeff Paul is a concert pianist, musical director and piano instructor in Marin, and has been a staff accompanist with SingersMarin for the past two years.

Andrei Gorchov will be conducting Harmonium, the new adult male ensemble.  In addition to performing a mixed repertoire of classical and popular music, they will combine with Wings of Song, the women’s ensemble to perform selected pieces for mixed voices. The chorus will meet on Tuesday evenings, from 7:30-9:30 in Mill Valley.  Andrei Gorchov has a degree in flute performance, with additional advanced studies in choral and orchestral conducting.  He has been an assistant conductor for the youth and adult choruses of SingersMarin for the past two years.

Both choruses will be rehearsing for a performance with the combined choirs of SingersMarin for the annual Holiday concert, ‘Tis the Season, on Dec. 18 at the Marin Center Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium.
