Young ladies, ages nine through middle school, who have completed one semester in the Starlights program or have a strong musical background may audition for their age group’s select chorus, Celestial Voices.

In this program, the standards of musicianship and professionalism are raised. Because this is a more select program, rehearsal time is expanded to two days per week: Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm in Mill Valley. This added rehearsal time allows these ladies to perform more intricate and complicated repertoire, as well as connect with one another on a personal level, an important aspect of a smaller, higher level program.

The girls in this program also have more opportunities for high-level performances. They sang in the 2005 Children in Harmony Choral Festival at the Walt Disney World Resort. In June of 2006, they competed during the Golden Gate International Children’s Choir Festival in Oakland and received two prizes: second in the Folk Song Division and third in the Historical Song Division. They have also performed at the opening night of the Filoli Estate’s holiday festivities. Throughout the semester they perform for retirement homes and health care facilities in order to give others the joy of song. At the end of the Fall semester, the Celestial Voices will perform with all the other SingersMarin choruses in a special Holiday Concert at the Marin Center Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium.

The 2007-2008 Season marks the fourth season of performance for the Celestial Voices program. The end of this season includes the opportunity to travel to Gratz, Austria to compete in the World Choir Games in July of 2008.

Interested singers should call for an audition appointment: 415-383-3712.
