HOLIDAY SINGERS/Stravinsky Singers
During the Holiday Season, men are invited to join the women's chorus in selected numbers for the annual holiday concert at the Marin Center Veterans' Memorial Auditorium. Some of these men come from our summer chorus, or others are those that have previously sung with us over the years. Several pieces of the repertoire have become a tradition: the beautifully arranged Carols of the Night by Craig Courtney, which includes the audience favorites of "O Holy Night" and "Silent Night" and the closing number, "Let There Be Peace On Earth." Last season, we also included two favorite settings for our Carol Sing-along: "Angels We Have Heard On High" arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw, and "The First Noel" arranged by J. Edmund Hughes. Also in the concert repertoire was a song for Hanukkah, "Beams of Gentle Light", arranged by Robert Evans Holmes, and a new piece for the combined youth and adult choruses, "Wishes and Candles" by Stephen Paulus. The men will join Wings of Song in rehearsals on Tuesday evenings. STRAVINSKY SINGERS This spring season, we will have additional singers join us for our 25th Anniversary Concert at Davies Symphony Hall on April 23rd.
