Wings of Song is the founding chorus of SingersMarin. The first rehearsal was held in January of 1987, at the Strawberry Recreation Center. Its earliest mission was to perform for the elderly, singing songs that would bring back memories. That mission continues today, though the repertoire has expanded to include new compositions as well. Musical selections range from classical, to folk, to popular standards. In addition to performing in retirement homes and health care facilities, they are frequently invited to perform for various community celebrations and events. The singers have toured nationally and internationally, performing in Carnegie Hall three times, and singing in Festivals in Vienna, Austria, and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. They also performed in the Choir Olympics in Bremen, Germany, receiving a Silver Certificate for their presentation. Please click here for the membership information for Wings of Song.
